      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Software Cloud. Using JIRA Software Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      When adding issues (Issues in Epic) with time estimates to an epic, the estimate doesn't summarize it and/or calculate it in the epic level.

      This should work like tasks and sub-tasks where on tasks you have a summary of the estimates and can also include the sub-tasks values on it.
