My use case is to create a linked issue of a different type, without a Sprint field.

Could it be that this feature, knowing it's side effects, can be enabled in jira-config.properties?

            Thanks.

The Create Linked Issue feature clones custom field values and is not expected to be available for use with Software projects in JIRA Software. The Suggestion tracking the request to add it is JSW-13625.

This option should not be presented for Software projects as it is not currently supported. This is due to the inability to not clone any Sprint value.

As ignacio.pulgar notes there are cases where a sprint value may be present in a migrated project type's issues. Since this feature does not differentiate the sprint values from any other custom field values this behaviour is expected.

The bug is that the option is presented in the menu in JIRA Software. The request to support the feature I have noted. And the workaround is not to use the feature on an issue with sprint values unless it is desired that they are copied too.

inability to not clone any Sprint value

            This is causing JSW-15299.

Mind that there are some use cases where this bug arises when:

            • an issue from a Software project has some sprints and is moved to a Service Desk or Core project, from which the 'Created linked issue' is used.
            • a Software project is turned into a SD or Core project, and from issues which ever belonged to sprints you use the 'Created linked issue'.

In both cases, Sprint values are cloned.
