Adding attachment on customer portal does not fire issues updated event and in turn does not invoke A4j rules

    Description

      Issue Summary

      When an attachment is added to customer portal, it only fires issues commented event as against attachment added in Jira view that fires both issue updated and issue commented event.
      So if there are rules(possibly A4j) that are needs to be fired based upon issue updated trigger, if customer updates just an attachment to the customer portal, it will not be executed because JSM is not firing issue updated event on this operation.

      Steps to Reproduce

      • Create a A4j rule that looks like following:
      • Add an attachment on customer portal. Rule does not get fired.
      • Add an attachment on same project's Jira view. Rules get fired.

      Expected Results

      Rule should get fired if attachment was added from customer portal and Jira view both.

      Actual Results

      Rules does not get fired when attachment is added from customer portal.

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
