Issue Summary
Printing labels yields different results when printing from an object schema view, compared to printing from general "Search for objects" bulk screen.
This is specifically problematic when using dedicated QR label printer (e.g. 2.5cm x 2.5cm in size).
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to specific Insight object schema configuration > Templates > create a template that fits for printing 2.5cm x 2.5cm labels. Save the template
- Find / filter objects to be printed > bulk edit cog > Print labels
- Tweak printer dialog / scaling options to achieve best possible print settings
Expected Results
The labels are printed correctly, each label on every page.
Actual Results
It is not possible to print all labels correctly:
- Some of the labels are broken over several pages
- Some labels are not visible / missing (pages are blank)
- Scaling does not help to achieve good page breaking and proper printing.
Examples of resulting print previews:
Workaround
Use "Search for objects" bulk menu to print labels:
- Go to Insight > Search for objects
- Filter the assets with IQL > Bulk > Print labels
- The overview will give the exact look of the printout > click Print > modify the print dialog settings if needed.
Example of better, expected print preview:
Notes
It seems like printing functionality is achieved in a different ways in Insight code, when printing within a single object schema, compared to using "Search for objects" bulk dialog.
The latter one works fine, without issues, and the object schema-specific printing functionality should work the same way.
