    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Problem Definition

Currently Insight Reports with placeholder functions like currentUser() doesn't treat it as placeholders. Unlike Jira dashboard where the currentUser() is considered in the gadget filter Insight only respects it when ran as an individual IQL.

      Suggested Solution

      • We could have IQL'd gadgets instead of Insight Reports which dynamically can change the context of currentUser() like placeholders

      Workaround

      • Users create their own reports with the same IQL filter instead of one report being shared with multiple users. Obviously, depending on the scenario it can raise some scalability issues
      • You can alternatively Develop a new report type as a Jira plugin. But this would need development efforts

[JSDSERVER-7390] Make Insight / Asset Reports respect the placeholder currentUser()

            +1
This renders Insight-Gadgets completely useless if you want to use such on a Jira-Dashboard. The workaround does not apply for that scenario.
