      Atlassian Update – 16 August 2021

      Hi everyone,

Thank you for your interest in this issue.

Insight Asset Management is bundled with Jira Service Management (JSM) as a core part of the product. We continue to deepen the integration of Insight with JSM and do not have plans to provide the ability to disable the feature.

Insight provides powerful asset and configuration management capabilities that lets you create and manage your IT and business assets, and interact with them through requests, incidents, changes, and more. Whether it’s hardware, software, or office equipment, you can see everything you own at a glance and categorise it in a clear way. These capabilities are a cornerstone of IT Service Management (ITSM), a market where we continue to see strong momentum.

We hope that you appreciate our candid and transparent communication. Please visit our product documentation to learn more about getting started with Insight.

      Kind regards,

      Charlie

      Hey Team,

Greetings for the day, hope you are doing great..!!!

Customers would like to have an option in the GUI (manage apps) to disable the recently bundled plugins like Insight, Advanced Roadmaps for users if they don't prefer to use them.

Currently the option to disable these plugins is not available and hence the customers need to go through REST API based approach or database updates (pluginstate table) which needs manual intervention. Hence it will be great, if we can offer this flexibility to customers to choose whether they prefer to use these plugins (if not can disable in GUI itself).

Thank you for the help in advance.

            Hi Team,

When loading a page, Insight has a large amount of JavaScript code, which seriously affects the page loading speed.

There are about 188154 lines js code in the http response! com.riadalabs.jira.plugins.insight

            We strongly hope to have the function of manually disabling Insight.{}

            Thank you

A Solution schould even in the Atlassian world quite easy to implement (as it is possible for user installed Add-Ons)

So in this case I hope and crossing fingers that we might have that feature this decade.

We just had an Issue with our JIRA Service Management 4.20.1 Server Version because of this. We wanted to get rid of the Insight Plugin since we cant use it with our version and it uninstalled the Service Management completely without being able to reinstall/reenable it. There was no information in the Manage Apps page or even an additional popup calling out that it would uninstall the Service Management. We had to restore a JIRA backup to get our Service Management back.

Why is there no info in the Apps description on this page or a custom Popup just for this issue? This is really unacceptable in such a high priority application! Just put in a special text from this second table row below the text that states that we cant use this plugin anyway. Better write it in bold red or something.

            Best Regards
