Service Desk reset password not showing error if password complexity is not met

      Hello, everyone! After comparing this bug request against the known bug report JSDSERVER-5786: Service Desk customer sign up/password reset page does not indicate if the password does not meet the password policy requirements we realized that both are addressing the same scenario and error. We will be closing this request now and will ask you to cast your votes and add any additional feedback so we can have the impact of this issue gathered in one single request.

      Summary

      Customer portal reset password does not show any error message when password complexity is not met. Users are prone to confusion because "nothing happens".

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. In Service Desk project, add new customer
      2. Implement basic password complexity policy in JIRA.
      3. From customer portal, use the password reset link.
      4. Click on password reset link and attempt to reset the password by entering a simple password that does not meet password complexity. Example:
        • 12345

      Expected Results

      Jira should display error message stating that password complexity is not met.

      Actual Results

      Nothing happens.

      Workaround

      None.
