      • It is possible to bulk edit the "Request Type" fields from issues that have the same Issue Type
      • However, it is not possible to bulk edit the "Request Type" fields from issues that have mixed Issue Types

      The reason for this limitation comes from the fact that Request Type of an issue can only be set to a value that is associated to the issue type.
      If we try to edit issues from different types, changing the Request Type of all these issues to the same value will be dangerous and might lead to data corruption since the Request Type might not be compatible with the issue type of some issues.

      It would be nice to have a feature that allows to edit the request type of issues from mixed issue types in a way that is not "dangerous" and that respects the compatibility between Request Types and Issue Types.

            Hello, you mentioned that it is possible to bulk edit Request Type if all issues have the same type:

            How is that possible? I will appreciate a quick response because we will migrate to Jira soon.

            Bulk changing the customer request type was available if I'm not mistaking, but now it's gone. Can we please have it back?

            This is causing a huge amount of manual effort to manage a work around currently.  APIs to manage request types would be a huge first step towards tackling these issues, but serious UI updates are strongly desired here.  Below are a couple of use cases where this is a huge issue.  When handling a portal with 10s of thousands of tickets the manual update of issues is a show stopper.  Can you suggest any other workarounds that do not require manual UI work?

            Use case: Need to update issue type.

            problem: there is no way to update issue type

            process

            1. Manually duplicate the configuration of a request type matching the original
            2. Manually update each individual issue to the new request type
            3. Hide/Delete the current request type

            Use Case: Want to depricate an issue type.

            problem: hiding issue makes it so the customer can no longer see their old issues, but not removing the issue type leaves it available for more users to submit against.

            workaround:

            1. Manually update each individual issue to a different issue type
            2. Hide/Delete the current request type

            I agree strongly with this, also sorting request types by Group would be awesome.

            eg: Able to change everything in group 1. Computer Issues to 2. Computer Issues without having to manually change each one.
