Problem definition
Today, customers can raise a request as a Reporter and appoint themselves as the Approver as well. In some cases, this should be prohibited but it's not possible in Jira out-of-the-box.
Suggestion
To have an option/any validation check to allow or reject request creation if the Reporter or the Creator = Approver of the same request
Why is it important
In many business use cases, a user shouldn't be able to approve his/her own request. For example, expenses claim approvals that should only be approved by the authorized managers in the company. It should be able to prevent Reporters from being able to approve their own requests.

This is a Best Practice workflow and is required for a lot of security/risk management compliance. It would be so great if this was available as an option out of the box.
There should be an equivalent Suggestion for Jira Service Desk Cloud too, IMHO.
We have this requirement as well. Any updates on solving without having to rely on an add-on?
We too have this requirement. I tried putting a condition on to disallow the reporter from the approval step in the workflow. It was ignored by service desk
Since this feature is in JSM Cloud it should be something that could be built into JSM DC.
