      Problem definition

There's no way to keep a Portal open for sign up but restrict it from existing/internal users

      Suggestion

To have an option to mark the existing users or any registered customers as non-customers so that these users will not be able to access the Portals but keeping the Portal public at the same time

      Why is it important

The current options to keep a Portal public or restricted are too rigid, some portals have to be public and Agents or admins can manage their access manually after the signup. The user management functionalities per SD project or Portal should be more flexible.

          Form Name

[JSDSERVER-5290] Restricted users list for public Service Desk Portal

            Hi Michelle,

It's great to see that something might be done in the future for JIRA Service Desk customer portal which will allow Administrators do decide if and how their Projects are truly accessible to their customers.

Changing the Service Desk Portal Access Permission doesn't do the trick, because it creates a message being displayed all the time. Tweaking JIRA to make this message go away is not a solution, it's a workaround and shouldn't be needed.

I will follow this issue closely and hope to have more people looking at it and voting for it.

            Cheers,

            Pedro
