    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Problem Definition

Currently JIRA's delegated user directory will only automatically create users if users try to log into the application. Problem is that with JIRA Service Desk, most users will only use JIRA via email, which creates a new user with their email address regardless if they already have a user on LDAP server or not.

      Suggested Solution

JIRA Service Desk incoming mail should look up for users on Delegated LDAP server using their email address.

      Workaround

      Option 1:

      • Use a Connector directory instead and synchronize all users so all LDAP users using JIRA Service Desk will already have a user
        Option 2:
      • Change the User Name attribute to the mail attribute and move the Internal directory to the bottom.
