Summary
When using the Bulk operation on an issue navigator query, in the confirmation step, it is possible to disable emails (notifications) from being send on the actions that will be performed.
Though this works for JIRA notifications, Service Desk notifications do not appear to be taken into consideration.
Steps to Reproduce
- Set up a JIRA instance with Service Desk installed
- Set up an outgoing mail server
- Perform a search query in the issue navigator
- Perform any bulk operation on the query result
- In the confirmation step, uncheck the "Send mail for this update" box and proceed
Expected Results
The bulk operation follows through, and no notifications at all are being send out.
Actual Results
The JIRA notifications are not being send out
However, Service Desk notifications are being send out
Workaround
There is no proper workaround for this issue, though there are 2 options available:
- Shortly disable the outgoing mail server, however this might also impact any other events that require notifications from JIRA.
- Shortly disable Service Desk notifications. This is less intrusive than option 1 however could still impact notifications on other events than the bulk operation.
