Summary
Currently, if Thumbnails are disabled from Attachments, attaching an image will display a grey rectangle (or broken image) on Customer Portal. This is misleading:
Suggestion
JIRA or Service Desk should render the attached images as links instead of thumbnails which has been disabled system wide.
Workaround
When attaching an image, manually insert a link for it using [^filename.ext]:
Note
This should be done together with JRA-45919.

Hi, there.
I give you my example.
In my Jira I turned off Enable Thumbnails , screenshot: http://prntscr.com/d7iszs
Now when somebody attaches images via Customer Portal, they see an empty rectangle, screenshot: http://prntscr.com/d7itw2
It is naturally that turning off thumbnails should make all files to be downloadable links by default. I mean this way: http://prntscr.com/d7iuiq
It is very important to make all files to be attached as separate item.
Also it would be good to make it possible to turn on/off thumbnails per JIRA Service Desk Project.
