    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Server. Using JIRA Service Desk Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

We would like to be able to add screenshots directly inline from the description field in the Customer Portal. You can now do this from within JIRA itself which is nice and you can now paste screenshots in the portal (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSD-725) which is also nice but the use case we have is for customers who are trying to describe something using screenshots.

For instance, customer comes to the Service Desk portal and starts creating a ticket. In the description they want to say:
I can't log in. Here is a screenshot of the login screen:
      (screenshot of login screen)
When I supply my username and password I get this error:
      (screenshot of the error screen)

Today you cannot do this from the Customer Portal. You can attach images but you cannot easily relate those images to the text in the description.

[JSDSERVER-4436] Attachments/Screenshots in the description from the Customer Portal

This feature exists as a Jira "Work item". It shouldn't be hard to implement it also on the customer portal

This ticket has been open since 2017? Really? My company just got setup with Jira Service Management late last year, and our users have been asking for this since the beginning. Now we have a flood of internal tickets asking for this functionality. Please prioritize adding this feature ASAP.

Do you have visibility on this suggestion? It's really important for our client to be able to include screenshots. Thanks.

Can this same functionality be added to comments, we need the ability to attach images inline inside comments from the customer portal.  Unless there is a separate Issue for this somewhere?

It is quite strange that this issue is still "getting traction", and since 2016 no less. In-line comments nowadays are state-of-the art in pretty much any web-based editor, e. g. mail clients etc. NOT supporting this feature is hard to grasp.

Our customers often report issues that relate to complex processes in a software program. Currently, customers resort to attach word files or PDFs that contain their problem description, using in-line screen shots as mentioned in the description of this ticket. This creates obvious security hazards, and additionally is a big waste of time for our customers, and our own staff.

We - and our customers - would be extremely happy to see this implemented soon!
