We would involv the Customer into the workflow to set activ a status (e.g. to order, to accept something)
also it would be nice if a customer has to fill a custom field based on a status.

I believe that it is duplicated by
JSD-40, in regards to customers being able to action transitions from the customer portal.Therefore I would encourage you to watch that issue for updates, and add any further details specific to your use cases.
