Ok, so it seems this is very possible according to the developer pages

            https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/customer-portal/

            https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/service-desk/customer-portal/#footer-panel

What I can't figure out is how to make use of the information and implement these examples.  Anyone got any tips on where to start?

We wanted to publish some hyperlinks to helpful tutorials and how to information for which service request type to choose depending on the business need or situation.   We already use the descriptions which are helpful, however we want to publish a hyperlink to a "help desk manual"  We wanted to do this in the footer.   Is there another area or file we could edit to get this done?

Another "quick win issue" which takes over 6 years to solve. That's a shame.

Agreed, we need to create a footer/ imprint regarding data disclosure due to EU law requirements.

What is the solution from Atlassian for this feature. As a lot of other users have already comment. It is law in the EU. We need a solution for that!

Agreed with the above statements regarding compliance related requiremetns.

Totally agree with the last comment. This is not a request "just because", it is something necesary to be compliant with the law in the EU, so it should be part of Jira out-of-the-box (both Cloud and Server), without the need to pay for 3rd party add-ons.

Offering the possibility to extend the footer is not a big development after all.

We are forced by law to offer an "Imprint" and the "Privacy Policy"(DGPR) link, so it is no longer a question of interest.

If you sell a restricted product, you must ensure that your customers can use it without violating the law!

References to 3rd party add-on on the Atlassian Marketplace is not the way to pass the responsibility!

Wow i'm always impressed that the jira sd portal page is not using the footer.vm file as well. this is now a requirement and blocking us from going live with JSD as we can not link the customer to our GDPR related documents
