This High severity RCE (Remote Code Execution) vulnerability was introduced in versions 10.0.0, 10.1.1, 10.3.20, and 11.3.8 of Jira Service Management Data Center.
This RCE (Remote Code Execution) vulnerability, with a CVSS Score of 8.2 and a CVSS Vector of CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H allows an authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code which has high impact to confidentiality, high impact to integrity, high impact to availability, and requires user interaction.
Atlassian recommends that Jira Service Management Data Center customers upgrade to latest version, if you are unable to do so, upgrade your instance to one of the specified supported fixed versions:
- Jira Service Management Data Center 10.3: Upgrade to a release greater than or equal to 10.3.23
- Jira Service Management Data Center 11.3: Upgrade to a release greater than or equal to 11.3.10

The National Vulnerability Database provides the following description for this vulnerability: Babel is a compiler for writing next generation JavaScript. From 7.12.0 to before 7.29.4 and 8.0.0-alpha.13, using Babel to compile code that was specifically crafted by an attacker can cause Babel to generate output code that executes arbitrary code. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.29.4 and 8.0.0-alpha.13.
