      Description:
We have installed the official Arabic language pack from Atlassian’s repository (jira-language-pack-ar_SA) to enable Arabic translation in our Jira Service Management (JSM) portal, as required by the Refined for JSM addon.

However, after switching the portal language to Arabic, we encountered two major issues:

      1. Layout Direction:
The portal layout remains left-to-right (LTR) instead of switching to right-to-left (RTL), which is the expected and standard layout for Arabic. This makes the portal difficult to use for Arabic-speaking users and does not meet accessibility or localization standards.
      1. Incomplete Translations:
Several sections of the portal remain untranslated, including both system and custom fields. As confirmed by Refined support, these issues are due to limitations in the Atlassian-provided Arabic language pack.

      Business Impact:

      • The lack of RTL support and incomplete translations significantly impacts usability for our Arabic-speaking customers and agents.
      • This is a blocker for adoption in regions where Arabic is the primary language.
      • It also affects compliance with accessibility and localization requirements for our organization.

      What We’ve Tried:

      • Installed the latest Arabic language pack from Atlassian’s official repository.
      • Verified that the Refined for JSM addon relies on Atlassian’s language packs and inherits their limitations.
      • Consulted Refined support, who confirmed these issues are due to Atlassian’s language pack and core product limitations.
      • Searched for workarounds, including manual translations and custom CSS, but these are not sustainable or officially supported.

      Request:
      We request that Atlassian:

      1. Implement full RTL support for Arabic and other RTL languages in Jira Service Management (including portals and customer-facing interfaces).
      1. Ensure comprehensive Arabic translations for all system and portal fields, including new features and custom content.
      1. Provide clear documentation on the current limitations and roadmap for RTL and Arabic support.

Thank you for considering this feature request. This enhancement is critical for our business and for all customers in Arabic-speaking regions.
