Assets batch progress is not reflecting Report sync progress

      Issue Summary

Once created, an Assets Report should be synchronized in order to show. A report can be set to synchronize periodically.

When ever a Report is being synchronized, the progress is showing as a Batch Process progress bar in the UPM (Manage Apps).

For reports (assets Widgets) the progress shows 0%, and disappears once complete - not reflecting its progress while synchronizing.

A huge report may take days to sync, always showing 0% in progress.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create an Assets Object Schema with a single object type in it
      2. Add a Select Type attribute: "Select"
      3. Create a CSV file with a single column: Name, with sequential numeric values 1-1000
      4. Configure an Assets CSV import, using the CSV mapped to your object type:
-Ensure that "Unknown Values" is set to "ADD" - to add new options to the Select Attribute.
      • Map Name datalocator to the Name attribute (Identifier)
      • Map Name datalocator to the Select attribute
      • Synchronize the import
      • See that 1000 objects were created, and Select attribute is populated on all
      1. In Assets > Reports, create a new two dimensional report, indicate your Schema and object type, and use the Select attribute for both X and Y axis. This will ensure a long synchronization will start once you save the report.
      2. Visit the report, the screen will show a message indicating the report is being built (as it was never yet synchronized).
      3. Navigate to the UPM: Jira Administration>Manage Apps>Manage Apps and see the Widget batch process' progress bar - as you wait for the sync to complete

      Expected Results

Progress showing on the bar (%) updates as sync progresses and time passes

      Actual Results

0% progress is noted, until the progress is finished (can take seconds or days)- then it clears.

If this take days - it seems as there is no progress at all and can be mistaken for a stuck process!

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
