Problem Definition
Assets postfunction that would copy Text/TextArea attribute to a Jira Text custom field does not handle the text markup/markdown formatting correctly
Test Set up:
- Object type with both Text and TextArea attributes:
- put in a bunch of formatting text in both the attributes in this object:
- Assets Object Custom field where I chose this object as the value:
- Added two Set a Jira custom field with the attribute value from a selected object post-functions to map Text Attribute to Text Custom field and TextArea to TextArea custom field:
- Both the Text and TextArea custom fields are made Wiki Style Renderers:
- transition the issue to trigger the post-function:
Result:
- TextArea attribute mapped custom field TextArea is showing up as HTML
- Text attribute mapped custom field Text is better but not showing up correctly either
Suggested Solution
Make Assets postfunction maintain the Wiki rendering of Jira markup for text custom fields.
