Issue Summary
When using an Automation for Jira rule to populate the Approvers list, if the option "This rule should send emails" is disabled, no approval email will be sent from the "Approval required" JSM (legacy) automation.
In the case of the approval notification automation, JSM should ignore the enforcement “shouldSendMail=false” from the event fired by Automation for Jira. This would allow the approval notifications to be sent regardless of this option.
Steps to Reproduce
- In Automation for Jira, create a rule with the "Issue Created" trigger, and the "Edit Issue" action that will populate the Approvers field based on another field's value. Leave the option "This rule should send emails" unchecked.
- Create a new issue requiring approval in the Customer Portal.
Expected Results
An "Approval required" email is sent to the approvers.
Actual Results
No notification is sent to the approvers, even if the audit log for the "Approval required" automation shows the "Send email" action executed successfully.
Workaround
Edit the Automation for Jira rule and enable the option "This rule should send emails".
