Issue Summary
customer portal description field adds the text as Italic when we mark a word between two stars. Ideally, it should mark the word in bold.
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
Steps to Reproduce
- Install any JSM.
- Open the customer portal and try to create a request.
- Add the word hello between two stars
in the description field and check its behaviour.
- Add the word hello between two underscores(_) and check the behaviour.
Expected Results
The word hello becomes bold when present between two stars.
Actual Results
The word hello should become bold when present between two stars but that is not the case. It is becoming italic instead of bold.
When the word is between underscore it is correctly becoming Italic.
Workaround
Use the below text formatting in the customer portal.
*Italic characters* _Italic characters_ **bold characters** __bold characters__ ~~strikethrough text~~
