      Issue Summary

This is reproducible on Data Center: Yes

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Specify scan settings by entering the IP address of a vCenter.
      2. Add the credentials for vCenter, Windows, and Linux servers.
      3. Enable patterns for ESXI, Windows, and Linux servers.
      4. Adjust common settings as follows:
        • Enable the "Try VM Guest scan" option.
        • Deselect the "Delete VM Guests" option.
      5. Initiate the Discovery scan process.
      6. Execute discovery import operations and confirm that Host Objects have been generated for all VM guests.

      Expected Results

The Scan Setting Results must include the scanning information for all VMs, just like any other Host. When imported into Assets, Host Objects will be created, each with a Virtual attribute set to true.

      Actual Results

It has been observed that the discovery process did not scan all virtual guests on the ESXI host. In the scenario described below, there were three ESXI hosts with more than 149 virtual guests across these hosts. Following the discovery scanning and import process, it was noted that only 6 host objects were created; comprising 3 objects for ESXI hosts and another 3 objects for VM guests, equating to one for each ESXI host.

      Workaround

In the scan settings, include the IP ranges or subnets that encompass all Windows and Linux server virtual guests, and proceed to perform the scan.
