Problem Definition
Jira makes available several monitoring metrics through the JMX interface as detailed in Live monitoring using the JMX interface.
Jira Service Management has several features relying on PSMQ and monitoring this is helpful to understand overall instance health.
While we have PSMQ metrics available in the instrumentation page, and logged in the atlassian-jira-perf.log, these are not exposed as JMX metrics.
Suggested Solution
Expose available PSMQ metrics through JMX as well.
Workaround
Extract the wanted values directly from the atlassian-jira-perf.log file.
