Problem
When a customer creates a new account, their preferred language should automatically be set to the Service projects default language. However, it currently does not. Customer will have to manually set their preferred language first by logging in and updating their profile.
Suggested Solution
The preferred language of the new customer account is the project default language
Why This Is Important
This is a major issue because the project Default Language is meant to cater customers who can only understand specific language. By forcing the customers to have to login and update their language preference, it basically renders the portal useless to these customers as they may not understand enough to be able to change language in the first place.
Workaround
There is no known workaround to automatically change the customers preferred language. In cases where changing the default language of the instance is not feasible, customers will have to manually set their preferred language first by logging in and updating their profile.
Notes
Similar to JSDSERVER-4647: Setting Customers Language Improvement but the old ticket does not correctly elaborate the impact of this.
