Problem

Currently, the size limit of attachments in Assets is restricted to 10 MB. Jira has options for changing the default and maximum sizes of issue attachments, as mentioned in Configuring file attachments, but Assets doesn't.

Suggested Solution

Either the default attachment size should be increased from 10 MB to a higher value, or there should be a configurable option to increase it, just like in Jira.

Why This Is Important

• Unable to upload attachments of size more than 10 MB.
• This will allow Assets to be a more scalable solution.

Workaround

[Update as of March 2025 for newer versions]

1. As an administrator, click on the cog icon to access the Jira Administration menu
2. Select System
3. Select Manage apps
4. On the left-side panel, select Assets configuration
5. Click on Edit Settings
6. Find the field Maximum file upload size and change the default value to the desired value (in bytes)
