Help center: aria-label attribute used incorrectly for the search input field.

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

      Issue Summary

The aria-label attribute is provided to the "search" input field.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. With screen reader turned on, navigate to the Help portal
      2. Navigate to the search input field present after "What do you need help with ?" label
      3. Observe that the screen reader announce the label as "Search"

      Actual Results

For the search input field in the Help center portal, the aria-label="Search" is provided unnecessarily. The label associated with the input field i.e. "What do you need help with?" is not announced to the screen reader users. This makes it difficult for the assistive tech user to understand the purpose of the input field.

      Expected Results

Remove the aria-label="Search" from the <input> element. Ensure the label  "What do you need help with?" is announced correctly to the screen reader user.
