      Issue Summary

      Discovery ESXi_HostSystems pattern is unable to retrieve S/N if Bios manufacturer is missing to be retrieved in the Vcenter interface

      This is reproducible on Data Center: yes

      Steps to Reproduce

      When enabling ESXi_HostSystems pattern and scanning ESX servers the serial number is not retrieved by the discovery tool and this only happen when in VCenter itself those hosts misses the BIOS-Manufacturer info.

      When Bios manufacturer is available in Vcenter S/N is set and we see follow in Discovery logs:

      Set HostSystem.UUID value from: Hardware.SystemInfo.UUID
      Set HostSystem.Serialnumber value from: Hardware.SystemInfo.SerialNumber
      Set extended information Asset Tag value from: HostSystemIdentificationInfo.OtherIdentifyingInfo (asset)
      Set extended information Service Tag value from: HostSystemIdentificationInfo.OtherIdentifyingInfo (service)
      

      When Bios manufacturer is not available in Vcenter, then the S/N retrieval step is missing from logs:

      Set HostSystem.UUID value from: Hardware.SystemInfo.UUID
      Set extended information Asset Tag value from: HostSystemIdentificationInfo.OtherIdentifyingInfo (asset)
      Set extended information Service Tag value from: HostSystemIdentificationInfo.OtherIdentifyingInfo (service)
      

      Expected Results

      S/N should be retrieved from ESX server BIOS as well.

      Actual Results

      S/N is not retrieved when BIOS manufacturer is missing.

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
