Issue Summary
In Assets (Insight) I would like to receive an email notification when I mention myself under an object comment if I have configured the User preference "My changes" to "Notify me"
This is documented here Behaviour of mail notifications in Insight does not work, this suggestion is to be able to have this feature.
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
Steps to Reproduce
- Make sure that outbound mail is configured and enabled
- Open your profile picture in the top corner of Jira
- Click on the pencil next to Preferences to edit
- Change the value for "My Changes" from "Do not notify me" to "Notify me"
- Go into Assets (Insight)
- Create a generic scheme or use one of the examples
- Create a simple object
- Open the object in object view, click on the comments tab
- Write a comment and mention yourself
Expected Results
An email notification is sent to me
Actual Results
No email notification is sent to me
Workaround
There is a slightly obscure workaround to configure an Insight Automation rule where the action is "Email notification" but when you would have to make one for every user who wants to receive a notification when a comment is created or edited and this may result in receiving too many notification emails as there is no logic to only get updates from yourself, it would be for everything regardless of a mention or not.
