Comment from a Customer:
We are usually not setting a Hostname / Device Name to our Network devices, and we refer to them by their IP Addresses.
Discovery will successfully log into our devices, and try to execute an SNMP patterns on the devices, but as there are no Hostnames set - the SNMP Scan will be canceled, and a Basic / Unknown Host will be created - with a Rejected Status.
This is confusing, as the logs do show working SNMP Credentials...
It will be more effective to set a fallback in place: If the Device was logged into, but there is no Hostname, set the IP Address as the Hostname by the Pattern - so a Device Object will be created, with a "Running" Status, and all additional information scanned.
The Hostname can be set from a Pattern (if empty) - either to a fixed value, e.g. "No Hostname", or to the IP address if available.
