Business Services/Create Objects : Unclear functionality of expand/collapse links for the Objects.

    XMLWordPrintable

Description

    Issue Summary

The show/hide link for "Details", "Activity", etc. are missing accessible link text. As a result, its destination or purpose is not conveyed to screen reader users.

    Tested URL

    https://instenv-21072-japp.instenv.internal.atlassian.com/secure/ObjectSchema.jspa?id=3&typeId=43&objectId=201

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Launch the URL
    2. In the Insights Objects schema, select any schema and navigate to the available objects in the Object type section such as "Business services"
    3. In the main content area, keep the screen reader on and navigate to the expand collapse link type button for "Details", "Activity", etc.

    Actual Results

The functionality associated with the "Expand/Collapse" link such as "Details", "Activity", etc. in the main content area for Objects is unclear for screen reader users. Visually, on activating the link, the content gets expanded/collapsed dynamically below on the page. There is no link text provided to the link and it is not announced to the screen reader correctly. This will not make the assistive technology user understand the functionality associated with the link.

    Expected Results

Add an aria-label to the link such as "Expand Details" when the comments should be expanded and "Collapse Details" when the comments should be collapsed.

Set the “aria-expanded” attribute to “false” for the links when the links are in the collapsed state. Ensure that the value of the “aria-expanded” attribute changes on user interaction via scripting.

Additionally, add a role="button" to the div element as the functionality is moreover like an Expand collapse button.
