As a Marketplace vendor we want to work with JSM and do the right thing. The inability to access JSM components stops us from doing that.
Currently we want to access a JSM Project 'request security' settings (
./servicedesk-parent-pom/sd-components/servicedesk/plugin/src/main/java/com/atlassian/servicedesk/internal/rest/settings/requestsecurity/RequestSecuritySettingsDataProvider
) however, the component is internal and cannot be accessed from another app. The only way we thought this could be bypassed was to use REST, which hits other problems eventually ( JSWSERVER-15698 ).
The lack of component level API access hinders deeper integration and our ability to do the right thing for customers. This issue is logged to allow us to refer customers to it, I have no illusion that Atlassian takes input from many sources...
