Currently, the insight discovery agent is available only for the Windows platform. Non-Windows platform such as Linux/macOS should also be supported by the Insight Discovery Agent.

It's extremely disappointing that there's no MacOS agent for this. It's not like it's a niche operating system. Come on Atlassian sort it out

Unfortunately, we initially tried to implement Jira as a solution for managing our Assets. However, we later discovered that Jira lacks an agent compatible with macOS. Since a significant portion of our team relies on macOS for their work, the absence of a macOS agent makes Jira an unfeasible option for our needs. This limitation is a critical deal-breaker for us, as it hinders our ability to fully integrate and utilize Jira across our entire team.

I've been finding the process of updating Mac device information using spreadsheets and CSV files quite cumbersome. Given our security policies, utilizing a third-party plugin to handle this task is not feasible due to concerns about granting third-party access to our data for access through Jamf as well as additional costing.

I would appreciate it if we could explore this alternative method because it would improve and greatly simplify this process. A more streamlined and secure solution that allows direct updating of device information directly without relying on external tools would be highly beneficial for our team's efficiency and overall workflow. I look forward to see this potential solution applied to other platforms. Thank you.

Same for us.  We'd love to consolidate systems, but it's not possible if Jira Service Management cannot support MacOS.

            Bump.

The lack of Mac support is blocking us from using the asset inventory product, though we want to.
In an ideal world, we'd want a silent agent for Mac with simple directions to mass-deploy over a script.
Many serious contenders in the space have this feature and compatibility.
            Thanks in advance.
