      Hello!

I wanted to give an update on where we are at with this one. In the near future we will be rolling out a revamped user experience for Assets. Within that new user experience we will be addressing this request by:

      • Formatting all datetime's according to the users language in their Atlassian account settings.
      • Offsetting all datetime's according to the users time zone in their Atlassian account settings.

This will being consistency with what is displayed in other parts of the Atlassian ecosystem for example in the Jira issue view.

      All the best,

      Justin King

      Problem Definition

At this time we can't change the format of date and DateTime attributes. The configuration set in the look and feel section of Jira or the Advanced configuration is not followed by the Insight.

      Suggested Solution

Ability to set format for date and datetime attributes OR to honour the Jira date time settings

            Hello,

I'm re-opening this request as we have realised there is a discrepancy with the date format not being respected while in edit mode. This was not the intended behaviour. We'll look into a solution and will provide an update.

            Regards,

Was this update supposed to address date entry, or just display?

            Hello!

Within the Assets user experience we have addressed this request by:

            • Formatting all datetime's according to the users language in their Atlassian account settings.
            • Offsetting all datetime's according to the users time zone in their Atlassian account settings.

This is consistant with what is displayed in other parts of the Atlassian ecosystem for example in the Jira issue view.

Any updates on when this will be implemented?
My global setting are correct so not sure as to why Insight/Assets date/time default is overwriting it. It is confusing at best and potentially dangerous (think renewals/licencing etc.).

I now see "Assets" in the menus, and the Assets UI has been revamped (conveniently losing all my custom column settings).

However, date entry is still stuck in US format.

Is the rollout complete? Is this change now supposed to be deployed, or will it take another 2 years to fix?

Point taken 90253c67a11f. We'll look at factoring this into the Insight new user experience that's in development.

Errr "Improving and harmonising the Insight user experience with the rest of JSM / Atlassian", I think you'll find that is exactly what we're asking for!

Agree. I am building one workaround after another. The only advantage is that our organisation is not using Jira/Insight heavily. Otherwise I would have started looking for an alternative.
