Summary
Collaborators are not able to view the assets that are already linked to a JSM issue.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an issue and add some assets to the "linked assets" field. If you don't see the field, click "configure fields" in the top right. If you are on staging you might also have to install the connect app with the url: https://sd-connect-testbed.dev.services.atlassian.com/atlassian-connect.json
- Try to view the issue as a collaborator
Add a collaborator by:
- going to settings > user management > users
- click on "show details" for the user you want > turn off their access to Jira Service Management
- Go back to your project > project settings > people > Add people > type their email address > choose role as "Service Desk Team"
- Note you can add yourself as another user by using <yourusername>@usersinbuckets.com

- You can log in to your Jira project under that name using an incognito window
Expected Results
The collaborator should be able to view the assets that are liked to this issue
Actual Results
The collaborator is not able to view the assets that are liked to this issue
![]()
Notes
This is happening because the collaborators don't have edit permission for a JSM issue. However, viewing linked assets shouldn't require EDIT permission
Workaround
For Insight cloud you can copy the Insight field to a custom field using: configure the 'Set a Jira field with the attribute value from a selected object' post function
