On Classic Service Management projects, it's possible to add request types into groups, so customers can easily find what they need.
When creating groups, we can add a name but, the description of the group will be the request types that it contains.
It would be great if, instead of showing the request types' names, administrators could add a custom description of what requests customers can find on that group.

I have a customer portal on JSM which contains a lot of request types.
Request types are grouped into group portals.
but the portal displays all request types. it's not very pretty and not very readable.
This would be super useful!

No need to tell the users what Form(s) is/are attached.
Would love to override the list of Request Types on the Portal Group. The ability to add descriptive text would make it consistent with the Request Type descriptions as users drilldown to the submission they require. Please add this feature!
This would be useful for us, we have a lot of Service Requests so this makes the portal look very unprofessional
Definitely would love to see this implemented. Ultimately cascading group types and better customisation of the external-facing portal landing page are better, but as a quick fix having descriptions on the group would prevent our support staff from recategorising incorrectly submitted forms.
as most have said can be a very restrictive pert of the portal . please allow the editing of this section
Making the request type field as editable will be much ideal to input correct info to reflect it better.
This would help us keep our portal groups tidy rather than having a big list of request forms
This is a really restrictive part of the portal - please review this suggestion as it would allow better information to be displayed in the portal for customers.
This is another annoying oversight in this product. There seems to be a common theme of expecting to use it only one way with little to no thought around offering real flexibility over settings. Can we get this changed to allow customisation please?
Please consider adding this ability! I have spent over an hour trying to figure out how to do this....and how the person before me had customized it. All I can think of, is that they used an add-on from the MarketPlace to create them, and now we no longer have that add-in so the text is locked in place.
I would like the ability to hide and/or customize group descriptions. Many of them don't apply to our company.
+1, it would be really handy to have some sort of custom description added to the portal groups so as to make it more informative and intuitive for the portal users.
+1. This is much useful feature. The description shouldn't get populated from the fields in that group. We should be able to provide our own description to ensure user is picking the right option. Please provide it 
We have the exact same problem. Even turning off the output of the request type names for the display on the portal would help. We have a decent sized service catalog and displaying all of the names on the portal landing page is ugly and very hard to read. +1,000,000
+1 being able to add a description for a portal reduces customer questions.

Completely agree, I have about 12 Request Types in a Portal Group and it looks ugly and hard to read on the screen. Please allow this to be edited.
+1. I think base requirements could even be just to turn off the description, so that the long string of request types doesn't appear on the portal group.
It would be ideal if this customisation for the portal group description was actioned - we currently have quite a few request forms under portal groups and the long list of requests forms under the Portal Group Headings is not appealing/user-friendly.
