Summary
Better handle reply to Jira notification sent from the k9 mail app to a service desk mail handler
Steps to Reproduce
- Configure the k9 android mail app on your phone
- Trigger a Jira notification that lands in this mailbox
- Reply to this Jira notification from the k9 mobile app.
Expected Results
Email is processed successfully by the Jira service desk mail handler and comment is added to the ticket
Actual Results
Email is processed successfully by the Jira service desk mail handler and comment is added to the ticket, however, we see some additional html content posted in the comment along with the reply:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <!- <!--[if (gte mso 9)|(IE)]> Replying from k9 to jira notification this time
Notes
This does not affect when you reply to a customer notification or when you send a new email from the k9 mobile app
Workaround
Email sent from other mail clients still work fine.
If you have to use the k9 app, then send a fresh email with the issue key in the summary of the email to add a comment to an existing issue.
