Issue Summary
Jira Service Desk Cloud allows you to upload a logo image for the project. This logo appears in the customer portal. Changing this logo though is not an immediate result. Instead it has been observed that changing from one existing logo to another will commonly take 5-6 minutes before any end user will see that new logo
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Jira Service Desk classic project
- In the project settings -> Portal settings, go to the Logo section
- upload an image here, crop, and save
- confirm that you see this image in the customer portal
- Return to the portal settings page
- Click the change logo button
- upload a completely different image this time
- Check the customer portal for the updated logo
Expected Results
We expect that this logo will change immediately on the site.
Actual Results
- Customer portal view: Instead the customer portal does not update for at least 5-6 minutes.
- Jira admin view of portal settings page will still show the old logo at first. Waiting 5 minutes after a logo change appears to be necessary in order to see the logo that was uploaded.
- Attempting to do a hard refresh (shift + reload page) does not have any affect on the image that is loaded. This should be sufficient to correct the problem if it was solely a cache problem in the browser end, but it appears that Jira Cloud is holding onto the previous logo for upwards of 5-6 minutes.
Workaround
In Chrome, enable inspect network activity. Ensure that the "Disable cache" is enabled and upload the logo again.
