    Description

      Problem Definition

In Jira Service Desk, users that only have the customer role are not able to create requests or see their own requests via the REST API. Instead connect add-on apps are instead encouraged to use an account that is an agent in order to create requests on behalf of customers. This could be greatly simplified to just let customers make authenticated requests to a REST API in order to create/manage their own requests.

      Suggested Solution

Allow authentication customers to use a REST API endpoint to create and update their requests

      Why this is important

Email and customer portal use should not be the only means for a customer to create a request. This is important because users should not need to be an Agent just to create a request via REST.
