      Problem Definition

      When click "Create Subtask" button, user only able to key in the "Summary" of the subtask from the "inline" update.

      Suggested Solution

      In "New Issue View" , when click "Create Subtask" button , it will pop up subtask screen for users to fill in the information.

      Why this is important

      It makes the user experience better for user to create subtask.

      Workaround

      1. Users can either click on the sub-task to access it directly and then edit it accordingly or;
      2. Users can disable the "New Jira issue view" for now, by:
        1. Clicking the profile icon, on the bottom of the left sidebar, then Settings under "JIRA";
        2. On the "Jira Labs" section, clicking to disable the New Jira issue view.
      3. Jira Administrator can add a Workflow Validator in the Creation Transition defining the Summary field as required:
        1. Here is a Screen Recording further detailing the configuration to achieve it: Setting Summary as Required to forcedly Open Pop-up upon Subtask Creation
        2. This behavior can also be achieved by defining other fields as required for Sub-tasks, however, when using the Summary field - which is already mandatory by system default - this will avoid having additional fields as required.

      Note: This workaround doesn't apply to next-gen projects.
