Description
Summary
Currently if the Then action of a service desk rules create an issue in a project where the respective screen has more than one tab it requires the Linked Issues field to be mapped in one of the tabs, otherwise the issue will be created without any links to the original issue.
In resume:
- If you have only one tab on your screen and don't have the Linked Issues field mapped on it the automation will successfully create the link
- If you have more than one tab on your screen and none of the tabs has the Linked Issues field mapped the automation will fail to create the link between issues.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a JIRA Service Desk project
- Create an automation rule that has the Then rule to create another issue in the same project linking to the matching issue
- Change your project screens to have more than one tab
Expected Results
The link between issues should be created.
Actual Results
The rule succeeds in creating the second issue but no link is presented.
Notes
Having the Linked Issues field on your screen is not a pre-requisite for either showing or making links that's why this is considered a bug.
Workaround
Add the Linked Issues field in any of the screen tabs.
