Automation rules creating issues without defined issue links

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

      Summary

Automation rules that have the create issue action can be associated to a deleted issue link type.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a new issue link type.
      2. Configure an Automation Rule to create an issue and link them using the new link type.
      3. Delete the link type.
      4. Create a new issue that matches your rule condition.

      Expected Results

The rule should be executed fine but a warming to the user should be triggered saying that the configured link doesn't exists anymore.

      Actual Results

Both issues are created but they don't have any link associating them.
The following should be logged on the backend of JIRA:

message:[Create issue action] Could not find issueLinkType with ID 10302

      Notes

      (Optional - If Necessary)

      Workaround

If you're aware of the issue link that was deleted update the rule action to use another link type.
If you're not sure what link type was deleted and what rule is referencing it contact Atlassian support.
