    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Service Desk Cloud. Using JIRA Service Desk Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

It's a bit cumbersome to add a new customer from service desk. You can add an email address, but not set the user's full name.

Once the email is added, we then have to go into jira users admin, edit the user, and then set the name on a separate screen. It would be great to be able to do this in one shot.

I usually copy and paste names/addresses from my email client, and the generic standard for names and addresses is: First Last <name@company.com>.

It would be great to be able to paste this in as one unit right into service desk to add the user and set the name.

It should also be able to parse

      'First Last' <name@company.com>

      "First Last" <name@company.com>

And also, all these combinations, using: Last, First

Ideally there would also be a plugin hook where there can be the ability to add to these rules or replace them with the administrators choice of functionality.
