      Issue Summary

Users are unable to retrieve or see service attributes within the Lookup Objects action in Automation rules. While the AQL queries work perfectly when executed directly within the Assets UI, they fail within the Automation engine.

AQL queries are failing with the error in the automation audit logs: "Unable to retrieve the query from the custom smart value query."

Attached screenshot shows the error while using Basic search in the Automation action.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create an Automation rule with a Lookup Objects action.
      2. Select an Assets schema.
      3. Attempt to use a "Basic" search or enter a valid AQL query.
      4. Observe that no attributes are populated in the dropdown, and the query fails to return results.

      Expected Results

The Lookup Objects action should correctly fetch and display attributes for Assets schemas, and AQL queries should return the matching objects as they do in the Assets search UI.

      Actual Results

      • Attributes do not appear in the dropdown.
      • AQL queries return the error: "Unable to retrieve the query from the custom smart value query."
      • Basic search within the Lookup Objects action also throws an error.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
