Problem
After migrating from OpsGenie to JSM Operations, the Jira Cloud mobile app (Android & iOS) does not display the on-call user's phone number or provide "Call" / "Send email" action buttons when tapping on an on-call user in the schedule view.
In the OpsGenie mobile app, tapping an on-call user showed:
- Account name
- Phone number(s)
- Timezone
- Teams
- "Call" and "Send email" action buttons
In the Jira Cloud mobile app, tapping an on-call user shows:
- Name
- From/To dates
- Rotation name
- Timezone
- Override option
Missing: Phone number, "Call" button, "Send email" button.
This was a critical incident response feature, during an incident, responders could directly call the on-call person without looking up their number separately.
Note: JSDCLOUD-14056 was resolved as Fixed for the web interface (component: Operations - On-call Schedules), but the mobile app was not updated with this parity.
Suggested Solution
- Display the on-call user's phone number(s) in the mobile app's on-call user detail card/bottom sheet
- Add "Call" and "Send email" action buttons (matching the former OpsGenie mobile app behavior)
Why This Is Important
- During a major incident, every second counts. Being able to directly call the on-call person from the mobile app without switching apps or looking up numbers is critical.
- This was a core OpsGenie mobile feature. Customers who migrated to JSM Operations expect the same capability in the Jira Cloud mobile app, as documented in Move to JSM Operations as a responder.
- The web interface already shows this information (
JSDCLOUD-14056fix), so the mobile app should match.
Workaround
Currently, users must either:
- Open the JSM web interface on a mobile browser to see the phone number, or
- Look up the on-call person's phone number through a separate directory/contacts app
