      Issue Summary

In JSM Operations, teams that have been renamed (or whose names include punctuation such as dashes) are not correctly surfaced in the Alert → Responders search.

      A team:

      • Exists and is fully functional in JSM Operations → Teams
      • Appears correctly in the Incident “Team” picker
      • Has historical alerts where it is already a responder

But can't be found in the Responders dropdown for alerts when searching by its current, full name. The same team can only be found when searching with a partial/alternate version of the name (for example, without the dash), indicating that the responders' search index is out of sync with the current team name.

This leads to confusion and makes it appear as if the team “disappeared” from the responders list for alerts, even though it is still valid elsewhere in JSM Operations.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create or identify a team in JSM Operations
      2. Rename the team or adjust punctuation
Rename the team or adjust its name to include punctuation, e.g.:
      • From On Call REOn-Call RE, or
      • From On Call RE TeamOn-Call RE Team.
      1. Confirm the new name is displayed correctly under Operations → Teams and in the Incident “Team” pickerVerify the team appears in the Incident “Team” field
      • Open or create any Incident in the same environment.
      • In the Team field on the incident:
Search for the team by its current full name (e.g. On-Call RE).
Confirm that it appears and can be selected.
      1. Attempt to add the team as a responder on an alert (search with full name/punctuation)
      • Open or create any Alert in JSM Operations.
      • Click on the Responders field.
      • Type the team’s current full name, including punctuation, e.g. On-Call RE.
      1. Search again using a partial/alternate term (without punctuation)
      • In the same Responders field on the alert, clear the search.
      • Search instead using a partial or punctuation-free form of the name, e.g.:
            > On Call RE
                 > Or even shorter partials like On / Call / RE.
                 > Observe that the same team now appears in the dropdown and can be selected.

      Expected Results

The team to be listed in all Team Picker fields regardless of the name have been changed.

      Actual Results

The team is not listed in the Responders fields, in the alert creation UI. This leads to the following impacts:

      • User perceive that the team has disappeared from the responders list for alerts.
      • Incident configuration and team configuration appear correct, making the issue non-obvious and time‑consuming to diagnose.
      • It can block or slow down adding the correct on‑call team as a responder during active incidents.

      Workaround

Search using a simplified/partial name in the Responders picker

In the Alert → Responders field, instead of typing the full team name with punctuation, users can:

      • Omit punctuation (e.g. search On Call RE instead of On-Call RE)
      • Use a shorter partial string (e.g. On, Call, or RE).

The team typically appears in the search results under one of these simplified queries and can then be selected normally.
