      Issue Summary

The “Create post-incident review” automation action fails to create a PIR with the error:

Invalid request type value. Either you don't have permission or this request type does not exist. (customfield_10010)

Using the same project and same request type:

      • The request can be created manually from the UI.
      • The request can be created successfully via the standard “Create work item” action.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Unable to reproduce in test environment

      Expected Results

The PIR should be created successfully.

      Actual Results

There is an error creating the PIR even though the project and request type are valid.

      Workaround

Option-1: If the project key has been modified and you are seeing execution failures, this is the likely cause. Changing the project key back to the original one will allow the “Create post-incident review” action to execute successfully.

Option-2: Use Create work item instead of Create post-incident review:

      1. Replace Create post-incident review with Create work item in the rule:
        • Project: the same JSM service project
        • Issue type: the issue type backing the PIR request type
        • Request type: the PIR request type (e.g., Post-incident review)
        • Set Summary (and optionally Description) using incident smart values.
      1. To link back to the incident:
        • Add a Branch rule / related issues → Most recently created work item.
        • Inside the branch, add Edit work item to:
          • Add an appropriate Issue link back to the original incident.
