Issue Summary

Request creation fails with “Components” field hidden due to default value validation error

This form contains a hidden field that does not have a valid default value configured

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a request type with the “Components” field hidden (not required).

1. Go to the portal and attempt to submit a new work item.

1. Fill in all visible fields and submit.

Expected Results

Work item is created successfully on first attempt.

Actual Results

The below exception is found in the logs

A validation failure occurred when a customer attempted to create a request with issue type 'XXXXX'. The hidden field 'XXXXX' is required and does not have a default value set., 

Workaround

• Retrying the submission usually works.
