Current State:

Customized Discovery pattern files will add "Extended Information" objects to the Scan Results xml file, for example - Postgres patterns (out of the box) will add Owner, Encoding, Access Privileges and more.

When configuring a Discovery Import - a Default structure and mapping are being set in place. 

However - the Datalocators (in the example above, under the Database object type map) will SHOW the extended information as available, yet no Attribute is created for these, hence no mapping is being set.

Proposed Future State:

Similar to current behaviour in Data Center: In the initial Import configuration, if the Scan results file contains Extended Information, this information will automatically create corresponding attributes in the Object type, and map them accordingly in the import.

Alternative (e.g. Third Party Plugin):

Currently, adding extended information manually, and mapping them manually in the import is the only option.
