      Actual Results

      When the "Skip to Main Content" link is activated, the focus moves to the top of the page. This occurs because the <main> element wraps the entire page structure instead of containing only the primary content.

      As a result, keyboard-only and screen reader users are unable to bypass repetitive content and are forced to navigate through the header and navigation elements before reaching the main content of the page.

      Expected Results

      When the "Skip to Main Content" link is activated, focus should move directly to the main content area.

      Apply the following changes:

      • Wrap only the primary content of the page within the <main> element.
      • Place the header, navigation links, and other repetitive elements outside of the <main> element.
      • Set the skip link target to the start of the <main> element so that it moves focus directly to the primary content.
      • Add "#main" to the "href" attribute of the <a> element.
      • Add an "id" attribute to the <main> element with the value "main".
      • Ensure that the value of the "href" attribute in the <a> element matches the "id" value of the <main> element.

      Code Snippet

      <a href="#main">Skip to Main Content</a>
      <header>
      ...
      </header>
      <nav>
      ...
      </nav>
      <main id="main">
      ...
      </main>
